You notice the nomenclature is spinning and webs, instead of weaving and weaves. Because this is set in the Age of Legends
The goal of the game is to have fun. We will try to honor Jordan's/Sanderson's vision as much as possible, and will favor the tennets of his universe over the nuances of this system. That being said, that which is not expressly forbidden is by implication permitted.
- Gender: You may pick any of the 4 gender types, two grant onepower, the other two grant attributes
- Origin: Origins grant free points and sometimes non-human race, but not all origins make sense for this chapter, to that end except for racial origins, ignore the origin label if it conflicts with your concept during roleplay.
- Prior to selecting Talents, your EXP cap is 1000
- Attributes:
- You can have only one column of attributes that has more than 4 dots in any attributes (i.e. only physical or mental or social can have 5 dots, but not the other two)
- You must be within 1 dots of max & min in a single column (i.e. If you take 5 in dexterity, then you must have at least 4 or 5 dots in both strength and stamina. Exception: if you have a very good character concept)
- First Row Abilities (aka Basic Skills):
- You may pick 2 of the 4 basic skills by default.
- Basic skills cost 1*#dots for each dot (1 dot = 1 exp, 2 dots = 1+2 exp, 3 dots=1+2+3 exp, etc).
- Experience objective is the only limiter on number of skill points you take in basic skills.
- Optional:If you choose to only take a maximum of 3 dots of Onepower, and no more than 5 dots in any thread type then you may pick a 3rd basic skill on the first row.
- Second Row Abilities: (AKA "How you spent your training time" or Prestige Class):
- One of your second row abilities must be Talents. All players will be REQUIRED to take at least 1 dot of a talent (which will consume one of your second row abilities slots), and all talents other than treesinging and wolfbrother must be taken by someone. Wait to pick your talent dots because they do not apply to your EXP cap for this One Shot
- Note: when you save, the order of the columns may rearrange.
- Pick One Option Below
Col 1 | Col 2 | Col 3 | Explanation |
talents | 3 | 3 | You may choose two prestige classes in the third row in addition to talent. No prestigue skill can have more than 3 dots. |
talents | 4 | 2 | You may choose two prestige classes in the third row in addition to talent. One class can have skills with up to 4 dots, a second class can have skills with only 2 dots. |
talents | 5 | 1 | You may choose two prestige classes in the third row in addition to talent, One class can have skills with up to 5 dots, the remaining classes can have no skills with more than 1 dot. |
talents | 5 | [basic] | You may choose one prestige classes in the third row in addition to talent and one basic skill. If you choose this option, EXP is the only limiting factor. |
- One Power:
- You are required to have at least 4 dots of Potential (slider bar), and you cannot have more One Power dots than your Potential
- You must either take at least 4 dots of One Power, or at most 3 dots of One Power and take a third basic skill on the first row
- Magical Weaves (aka spells) are made up of five fundemental threads (earth, air, fire, water, spirit). You are not required to take any threads, but you can only cast magics for which you have sufficient dots in threads. Fire & Earth are cheaper for Male characters, and Air & Water are cheaper for female characters
- You may select weaves from the drop down. These are spells you know. The cost in experience, the casting difficulty and the damage they do is the bracketed number. You can know any weave, but you can only cast the spell if you have sufficient dots in the related threads (water, air, spirit, fire, earth).
- Weaves use different dice pools, which is denoted by the word next in brackets. Many casting types require dots in the One Power prestige class (second row skill)
- Willpower is tightly coupled with One Power, and it is recommended that you have more Will Power than you do One Power.
- Health: It is recommended that you consider your health dots carefully. They are expensive but very useful.
Every being has 13 boxes of physical damage (actual cuts and bruises) that they can withstand before absolute, final death. Dot health represents all aspects of avoiding and mitigating actual physical damage. You regain all dot health with moderate rest and satiation. Once your dot health is depleated you suffer box health damage (see soaking rules). All characters (except for Ogire and Myrddraal) with only box health remaining, must save vs shock every round in order to take an action. You also suffer penalties to actions, if you have any boxes of hurt damage (5 green) then you take a -1 penalty, for each box of disabled damage (5 yellow) you take an additional -1 penalty, if you have any unconcious damage (3 red boxes) you are not permitted to act [except as noted].
- Talents:Once your chracter is complete, coordinate with the other players to allocate talent points. Talents must be selected and uses up one of your second row ability slots. All talents (except wolfbrother & treesigning) should be covered by the group, you are permitted to go to 1250 experience when rebalancing your talents across the group.
